Have you heard of Human Movement Analysis ?

Walking and running are the most natural means of locomotion for humans. They are enjoyed as one of the best forms of exercises world over by millions of people of all age group. During these physical activities body weight is propelled forwards from one limb to the other in a balanced, rhythmic and synchronized manner during each stride.

This is possible due to an integrated multi-level neural control system producing a relatively constant kinetics, kinematics and muscular activity at each joint. All walkers and runners are susceptible to injuries. The vast majority of injuries happen to those having structural biomechanical abnormalities.

Abnormal biomechanics of lower limb during these dynamic movements put cumulative stresses on the locomotor system which predisposes an individual to injuries.

Human movement analysis is assessment of this locomotor system. This assessment in such physical activities is very helpful in the clinical management of injuries associated with abnormal bio-mechanics of human body.
